THIS™ Is a Smash Burger Taco

1. Finely chop two of your pickles and add to a mixing bowl with your mayo, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Mix. Burger sauce done.

2. Tare your 2 burgers into 6 equal pieces and roll around in some salt and black pepper. Place them onto a plate and then into the fridge whilst you get your pan hot.

3. Take the biggest pan you have and crank it up on a high heat. Get it so hot that you think it’s too hot. Then it’s hot enough.

4. Place a chunk of seasoned burger onto the frying pan and lay one of your tortillas over the top. Using something other than your hand (because that would hurt), squish down your tortilla on top of the burger chunk until the meat is thin and spread across the bottom of the tortilla. Let that get nice and hot for 8 minutes. Press down again to get those juices out of the burger and into the tortilla. Now leave to cook for another 4 minutes, allowing the burger chunk to fully cook"

5. Using a spatula, flip your burger tortilla concoction and check that the burger is nice and crispy. Leave to toast the tortilla for 2 minutes. And whack onto your plate.

6. Repeat a further five times.

7. To serve throw on some plant-based cheese add your burger sauce, lettuce, sliced white onion and sliced pickles. Taco Tuesday has never been this meat-free and easy. Enjoy.

8. Chop or tare your basil. Whatever you fancy.

9. Drain your spaghetti and add to the pan with the sauce along with half of your basil and another splash of the pasta water. Mix.

10. 2 bowls. An extra meatball for you. Basil on top. Serve.

Crispy edged smashed burgers meet golden toasted tortillas in this Taco Tuesday show stealer. Plant-based burger smashed straight onto tortillas, cooked hot and fast until juicy and crispy. Finished with melty plant-based cheese, crunchy lettuce, sharp pickles, white onion and a punchy homemade burger sauce that pulls it all together. It’s fast, messy in the best way, unapologetically indulgent, and proof that meat-free / plant-based comfort food can absolutely steal the spotlight.
